Louise Parker:
Live at the Hot Box, Chelmsford.

If you’ve been here since the beginning of the year when I started crookedjukebox. then you may know I wrote a piece about Louise Parker and she was basically on my years bucket list for getting to see live and to photograph. So I’m pretty happy in being able to say that I got to achieve that goal so soon in the year.
Louise performed at the Hot Box in Chelmsford on April 17th just last week where she supported the fabulous country/pop duo From The Wild. The Hot Box is a fantastic little venue for intimate style gigs and is located just beneath the Chelmsford train station.
Louise was accompanied by the brilliant Ben Selleck (a country singer-songwriter himself) on keys. After a stressful 2023 in which Louise damaged her vocal chords and had to take a step back to recover, she’s truly back with a bang. Playing crowd favourites like Bring It On and Tequila Sunset, she also teamed up with From The Wild’s Sarah Louise to sing a new song they’ve collaborated together on.
It was a great evening with great crowd participation, especially when From The Wild took the stage and played games where the audience would pick random songs and they would play the songs of the cuff. At one point all Louise Parker, Ben Selleck, Sarah Louise and Will Underwood were on stage performing together.
Will Underwood performed a great rendition of Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero’ and Sarah Louise absolutely slayed a version of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Ironic’.
If you’ve not heard of From The Wild, they are 2 artists that come together as friends to perform. But search both Sarah Louise and Will Underwood separately on Spotify and you’ll find a further back-catalogue of their music.
It really was a great night of music and fun. The crowd participation really adds a great element and I’ll definitely have to see From The Wild again when I get the chance. Same with Louise Parker.
And this is just the start for Louise this year, with many more gigs lined up, festival dates included. We highly recommend keeping an eye out for any shows she’ll be at. Her voice is sounding beautiful as ever and you’re sure to have fun in her presence.
