First Wave Announcements.

words by Nicola O'Connell

With the festival season drawing to a close, we’re excitingly given a generous morsel of something to look forward to until it’s return, with Slam Dunk dropping their first wave of artists who will be in attendance next year for their festival. With an already fantastic list of bands to talk about, I can only imagine how much better it can keep getting with the announcements which are still yet to come.

So far the line-up boasts the likes of A Day To Remember, Electric Callboy, Neck Deep, Alkaline Trio, The Used, Delilah Bon and New Found Glory, to name a few. Another band to look forward to is As It Is, who last month rebranded their social media which lead fans to notice a return was on the horizon after being on an indefinite hiatus.

I am very much interested on who will be on the final line-up when next year rolls around, I can see it being a cracking event not to be missed out on. Especially with this year having been such a success.

If you’re a lover of pop punk, rock, metalcore, ska or emo, then I truly feel like this is one of the best festivals to be attending. The mix of music is incredible and as someone who went to this years event (South) I got to see and discover some great artists I hadn’t heard before. There’s definitely something for everyone and I applaud the organisers for how smoothly the day went after having faced some criticism the year before.

So to refresh your minds, or to those who’re yet to pop their Slam Dunk cherry, the festival takes place in Hatfield Park (South) and Temple Newsam, Leeds (North). Taking place during one weekend on the 24th and 25th of May, tickets are now available from the festivals official website whether you want to attend one date or purchase a weekend pass to both dates.

Last year we saw bands like You Me At Six, the All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls and I Prevail. For our run down of the South date, check out our previous post HERE. If the weekend plans to be anything remotely similar to this years then I’d recommend snapping up tickets fast.
