New Release: ‘Gray’
Taylor Acorn, pop rock/punk artist, released her newest single ‘Gray’ January 19th. With nearly 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Taylor is proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
’Gray’ is another absolute hit from her which has made it to my list of songs that I will legitimately listen to on loop for a good half hour minimum. It’s everything I love about a pop rock song from the guitar to the vocal melodies, the all-round ageless feel which brings you back to your teen years listening to early Paramore, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, etc.
This is also one of those songs for me where you hit repeat on it so you can keep listening to a certain part. The way Taylor Acorn delivers the line “is it nice to see the bright side” is truly *chefs kiss* impeccable. It doesn’t get old, it won’t get old. It’s my equivalent of how Hayley Williams sings “hallelujah” in the song also titled ‘Hallelujah’. I’m obsessed.
If you’re in the UK, Taylor Acorn will be coming to Slam Dunk Festival in May of this year alongside a super line-up including You Me At Six, The All American Rejects, BOYS LIKE GIRLS, Palaye Royale and I Prevail, just to name a few.
Last year I got to see her play Download Festival and she pulled in an enormous crowd. I then watched her headline show several days later at the Underworld in Camden, London. Taylor is just as incredible live as she is on record, and an absolutely sweet human that has all the time for her fans.
Check out her recent album titled ‘Certified Depressant’. Taylor is very open to being vulnerable in her lyric writing which I feel has helped to build such a loyal following who find a comfort in her songwriting.
